WHAT
WILL THE GAMES OFFER?
The cities of Barrie and Orillia together
with the International MasterAthlete Federation
have worked very hard to prepare an international multi-sport
festival for MasterAthlete age competitors in February 2001.
This multi-sport festival includes competition in 15 individual
and team sports forathletes from the USA, Canada and Overseas. All competitions
are governed by a rules structure designed for the mature athlete.
The Games stress participation and are directed at men and women who compete
in sport throughout their lives.
They celebrate the enjoyment of competition and the excellence in achieving a personal best performance. The Winter Games provide an opportunity for mature athletes of all ages to continue competition worldwide and to endorse their personal commitment to health, fitness and longevity through sport.
YOUR PERSONAL
INVITATION
The Winter Games have prepared a comprehensive social programme
which will introduce our visitors to many new activities including: event
and city tours, an evening at Casino Rama, and memorable Opening and Closing
Ceremonies.
All of these events and activities will be shared with friends
both old and new. Whether you are a week-end warrior, a regular competitor
or on the come-back trail, the thrill of participation, achieving a personal
best, and the desire to compete are all essential ingredients in making
these Games a success for you.
We look forward to meeting with you personally and you may
be assured that the Organizing and Sport Committees, along with over 1,500
volunteers are all prepared to make your competition and visit a wonderful
memory.
